When deciding which optional extras to tick, bear in mind that the best deal new Toyota isn't necessarily the model with lots of extras (despite what many new Toyota dealers try to tell you). The fact is that most new Toyotas lose money faster on the optional extras than on the Toyota itself - so the extras you choose (even at the new Toyota best price) doesn't necessarily offer the best value. When it comes to ex-demo Toyotas or ready-built showroom new Toyotas for sale at a main dealer, the specification has already been fixed and cannot be changed; so if you need a new Toyota from stock, be spec-flexible. New Toyota dealers tend to pre order stock they can sell easily - typically Silver, Grey or Black Toyotas with few or no options at all. The best discount new Toyotas are normally specified like that - ie popular colours with few options. Car finance is another consideration when choosing to pay extra for optional equipment. If you buy a new Toyota on the best PCP deal or Toyota leasing / contract hire package you can find, the options may ruin your saving; this is because handing the Toyota back at the end loses the FULL value of the extra equipment you paid for. To avoid this potential loss, you have three possibilities: 1) select a higher Toyota trim level ie Sport over an S; 2) don't order expensive options; 3) buy your new Toyota on HP or with a personal loan (where you always own the Toyota and the optional extras).
