Buy Cheap New Lamborghini
Oozing charisma and purposeful good looks by the tractor front bucket-load, Lamborghini was established as a sports
car manufacturer in 1963, having brought together some of the most famous names in the history of northern Italian
supercar manufacturing. The story goes that a very successful Ferrari-owning tractor manufacturer, Ferruccio
Lamborghini, made a perfectly legitimate complaint, directly to Enzo Ferrari, about a third clutch failure in his
personal sports car. The wealthy industrialist, living and working in Sant'Agata Bolognese, the next village to the
beautiful city of Bologna, demanded a meeting with "Il Commendatore" (the nickname given to Enzo). The Ferrari boss
was incensed and sent Sr Lamborghini packing, having informed him that he ought to continue driving tractors, as it
was clear he could not drive a Ferrari! Equally upset, Ferruccio dismantled the transmission of his exotic sports car
back at his factory, only to discover that the manufacturer of the Ferrari clutch assembly was the same as his tractor
components. At that moment, he decided to plunge headlong into producing his own version of the breed and engaged the
services of Giotto Bizzarrini to develop a high-revving V12 engine, while Franco Scaglione was contracted to design a
beautiful chassis and body for the new model. The resultant Lamborghini 350GTV prototype was shown at various events
and generated an excited response. Lamborghini's first production model, the 350GT was launched the following year.
Sales were good enough to develop the 400GT, which led to the creation of one of the most beautiful sports cars in the
world, the Marcello Gandini-designed Muira, which featured the first use of a compact transverse V12 engine located
behind the driver's head. Lamborghini had made its mark and the brand was on the map, with 111 sales in 1967.
