Buy Cheap New Morgan
For a car manufacturer that celebrates its centenary in 2009, it is far too glib to describe it as “stuck in a rut”.
In terms of design, it would appear that Morgan Motor Company has remained in a 1930s groove established by the
founder of the company, H F S Morgan, in Malvern Link, Worcestershire. While Peter Morgan (who died in 2003) took over
from his father in 1959, the business is now run by HFS's grandson, Charles Morgan, and the standards have been
maintained regardless. In fact, in a manner not dissimilar to that of Porsche Cars, the company has been stoically
supportive of its origins and the attitude has ensured that a buyer fascination remains as strong as it has ever been,
with a lengthy order book and the unique position existing that buyers are prepared to await the arrival of their
motorcar anything up to several months after placing the initial order. Traditional build standards that include the
use of ash wood for chassis and panel formers, with aluminium sheet for exterior panels, underwent a major change with
the 2000 introduction of the Morgan Aero8, a Morgan for the future. In their place were an aluminium chassis featuring
racing-style sandwich construction and the extensive use of carbon-fibre. However, the cycle-wing appearance remained
true to Morgan's origins. It is only recently that the company has seen fit to peer a little further into the future,
considering primary and active safety legislation and even taking a more adventurous approach to styling. The latest
styling study, the Aeromax, being the case in point.
