Buy Cheap New Rolls-Royce
From the echelons of world brands that are instantly recognisable, people might not be able to recognise or recall
instantly the New Rolls-Royce Phantom but it is guaranteed that they will have heard of the name and will associate
the name with prestige, luxury and wealth. When Messrs Henry Royce and Charles Rolls first established their car
company in 1906, producing their first car in Manchester, prior to relocating to Derby two years later, while their
sights were set high, Royce would make them and Rolls would sell them, observers must wonder at regardless of their
aspirations whether they realised just how famous their name-conjoined brand would become. After all, there were
plenty of other carmakers springing up around the world at the time of the incorporation of Rolls-Royce. Although
always limited in numbers made by the fact that each one of the cars was predominantly hand-produced, the company had
branched into aeroplane engine manufacturing from the outset and it was this latter aspect that would lead to the
company's near-destruction. Having developed the advanced RB211 jet engines, which were crippled by demands for
increased thrust but lower prices, it filed for bankruptcy in early-1971. Due to the strategic importance of the
company, it was nationalised by the government of the day (under Edward Heath), which allowed the various projects to
be completed. The car company was hived off as a separate entity in 1973, Vickers (a non-automotive business)
acquiring the rights in 1980, although they were sold off to a strange inter-company debacle between BMW and
Volkswagen in 1998, which was resolved amicably by 1st January 2003, when BMW owned Rolls-Royce Motorcars outright and
VW concentrated on its Bentley subsidiary (Bentley having been acquired by Rolls-Royce in 1931).
