Chrysler Jeep is Phasing Out Physical "User Manuals"
One new car manufacturer, Chrysler has decided that a written copy of its user manual will be replaced with a DVD version. Chrysler Dodge Jeep says it plans to replace its glove box manual with an emergency userguide plus DVD including video instruction. All CJD model ranges are to be so supplied with the DVD from next year. However, customers can ask for a printed version (or down load one from the internet). User guides are pretty weightly and complex these days which include assistance with such new generation features as “smart” keyfobs, radar active cruisecontrol and Nav based auto-compasses. A Chrysler spokeswoman said 930tons of paper and more than $1m will be saved every year. A photographic printed user guide will show how key equipment works and what to do in emergency situations. All new Chrysler cars will be equipped with the DVD from spring 2010, and though no price reductions have been annonced for 2010, it is anticipated that Chrysler car dealers will be keen to do business!
NEW CHRYSLER 300C REVIEW
The Chrysler 300C CRD has a silky auto change and engine which make it a refined motorway cruiser than eats up miles with ease. Equally impressive, its 215PS motor will sprint from 0-60 mph in under 8 seconds and go on to 143 mph. The 300C is a comfortable car in any sense, but the Chrysler handles well being more responsive than one might expect for such a large car. All RHD 300C models are built in Austria to a high standard; indeed, some of the 300C parts are Mercedes supplied for example E Class engine, gearbox and electrical components. The 300C has a rakish roof line but the cabin offers plenty of space large and small passengers alike especially well-shaped and comfortable seating. The boot space is vast at over 500L, but fold the rearseat and there's yet more. The 300C can be specified with an options such as 'infotainment' (which is a multi media Nav and DVD system), e/sunroof, walnut and a 380W Boston Hi Fi. Owners should achieve a 35 mpg. The German brands may offer a technically more sophisticated package, but none rival the Crysler 300C's feel good character at such reasonable cost.
