NEW FERRARI CALIFORNIA F1
The new Ferrari California F1 possesses a very impressive power-to-weight ratio which gives it remarkable performance. The new Ferrari California F1 has a twin-clutch box which offers the driver relatively short ratios and an amazing "off the line" ability. The new Ferrari California F1 attains speed with virtually no wheelslip. This is a quick roadcar; and perhaps vital for Ferrari's target buyers, a high performance car that is also easy to live with and drive every day. It has to be said that Ferrari first model with the twin-clutch transmission is a great success. In fully automatic mode, it shifts smoothly at the perfect time. The Ferrari California also has ceramic brakes as part of the standard specification. Braking in wet or dry conditions are impressive; but it is on the track that these new brakes continue to perform well, even after hard driving. A real surprise is just how well the Ferrari California works for passengers; the ride is remarkable for a supercar. Perhaps first for any Ferarri, the California offers such comfort that owners could travel very long distances and expect to remain as fresh as in a German coupe. The trade off is that the Ferrari California has a soft setup; it has bodyroll on the turnin and some evidence of dive under hard braking. For daily driving, the Ferrari California setup makes good sense, as does the well assisted steering which makes light work of navigating light city turns. Not totally what you'd expect from the Ferrari stable, but this does mean the California is a relaxing grand tourer in the 1980's 412 sense. There is a sport setting that makes the handling more taught and sharpens responses, but it still doesn't result in the exciting Ferrari experience.
FERRARI WRITE-OFF
A British multi-millionaire wrote-off his nearly new Ferrari Spider (costing £160,000) after ploughing into deepest undergrowth. British property tycoon Mr Phillip Miller was driving his Ferrari on the A257 approaching the village of Wigham from the Canterbury direction, on Friday afternoon. Phillip, a bachelor 36yrs old left the main road when he spotted a young rabbit sitting on the road. Both Phillip and his girlfriend passenger walked away from the Ferrari 430 F1, without injury. “I just can’t believe the long distance off the road we travelled” Phillip said “the car pierced through bushes and trees until we heard branches scraping down the side of my Ferrari. “I am well insured, Ferrari delivered another car - actually a new Aston Martin for me to try.” The Police was called out Friday to control traffic whilst Phillip's Ferrari was recovered. Mr Miller, living in Woodnesborough, owns two other exotic cars, a bright yellow Lamborghini Diablo and one other Ferrari. That was one lucky rabbit!
