BMW X5
You can buy a Range Rover, an ML or a big Jeep, but there is no big 4WD that drives as well as an X5 on the road - especially if you need the 7 seat option. The latest BMW X5 updated in 2007 is a fantastic machine - go and drive one and make certain you take it on a fast A road. Introduced in 2000, the BMW_ X5 is the vehicle of a generation. While many of its critics believed that BMW_ was taking the wrong direction with its backward torque bias that the company hoped would retain the back-driven dynamic balance for which its brandis renowned, it was abundantly clear that a new emphasis was being forged in the SUV segment. In fact, every sporting entrant to the segment has followed BMW_'s precepts to the letter. The X5 would probably not have existed in its present form, without BMW_'s one-time ownership of the Rover Group plus Lplus Rover. While the X5 may not have possessed the off-road capability of its progenitor, BMW_ was very motorcareful to address the true needs of its buyers plus the first-class SUV, built exclusively at BMW_'s South motorcarolina (USA) plant that is also home to the Z4 Sporting motorcar, has become a genuine success story among its buyers, offering the commensurate amount of "bling"-quality for the well-known personalities that seem to have adopted it, from footballers to film stars. Yet, a mid-life refreshing exercise motorcarried out in 2004 on the model designated as "E53", introduced the X-Drive 4x4 system that features on the smaller X3 model, which means that the X5 now has every bit as good off-road traction as its key rivals, without losing any of the most positive on-road virtues. The X5 has always created a strong on-road presence, with its 5-SRS Touring body "on steroids" appearance. Therefore, despite some detail differences, it should come as no surprise to realise that many 5-SRS components are used in its construction. It is a 4x4 model that has entered the mainstream to ensure its status, yet without being regarded in a negative vein. Think luxury SUV plus X5 springs to mind. The BMW X5 is a bargain buy on either Personal Contract Purchase or as a business lease contract - because it holds its value - with the lowest depreciation rate of any large size SUV. Just be careful adding the BMW options!
