BUY, FINANCE OR LEASING QUOTE - UK NEW CARS - NO CAR IMPORTS

Audi is a brand "in motion". New Audis have reached a level of excellence, both technical and design, ahead of its time and its rivals. But Audi will not rest. Rooted in the premium luxury market, Audi has a regal history. Its heritage began with Silver Arrow Formula 1 racers back in the 30's; today Audi prides itself on being "progressive, sophisticated and sporty". That's a mixture not found in other brands. When Audi says "sporty", it means a thrilling drive, attractive looks, dynamic design and a competitive price tag. "Progressive" encompasses Audi's forward planning; leading visions and standards for modern, innovative cars. "Sophisticated"? Look at Audi interior architecture; it's all about combining the highest quality with perfection in detail. Audi caters for a demanding market that expects style, comfort and muscle. Audi buyers are seen as being cultured and refined, without the ostentation of a rival BMW or Mercedes-Benz. Audi in South Africa boasts 15 years of growth, with 25% growth since 1994. This formidable growth record puts Audi ahead of other automotive brands in the premium sector. Audi's monthly sales now total its annual sales back in 1994.That record is no mean feat in this highly competitive sector of the auto industry. Technology changes fast and, whilst sophistication is the cornerstone of any brand, Audi raced to beat rivals both under-the-bonnet expertise and in sleek designs. Audi is a brand obsessed with the highest customer satisfaction, a superb driver experience and a brand image synonymous with understated class. By 2015, Audi is aiming to become the most successful premium car brand - both locally and internationally.

Tracing its origins back to August Horch, the first Horch motorcar was produced in Zwickau in 1901. The name "Audi" is actually a Latin version of Horch, which means "Hark" or "Listen" in German. Yet, Horch left the company in 1920 and the DKW manufacturer took over the reins in 1928. By 1932, Audi merged with Horch, Wanderer and DKW to form Auto Union and the logo that represents the company today, consisting of four interlinked rings, was created. Almost ironically, the emblem was only used on racing cars produced by the group at that time, while each of the member companies used their own names for individual models. There was a lot of engineering crossover between the different brands, which acted as a precursor of the larger Volkswagen Group of today, of which Audi is presently a member company. Although in post-WW2 Germany, Auto Union was forced to relocate to its current home at Ingolstadt, in 1958, 88% of its stock was sold to Mercedes-Benz. However, the other German giant struggled with Auto Union and sold it to the growing VW Group in 1964. VW wanted to get away from its air-cooled reputation and the Audi 72 was a perfect means to achieve that. In 1969, Audi merged with NSU. The first modern Audi (100) appeared in 1968, followed by the Audi 80 in 1972, which formed the basis for the new VW Passat, then the Audi 50, which became the VW Polo. To suggest that the company has not looked back, other than to remind outsiders of its business origins, would be a falsehood. The firm knows what strengths it has brought to the greater VW Group and has watched its reputation and image grow immeasureably in the past few years. In various quarters, it is known to possess the finest standards of build quality and integrity of any brand and its sales have continued to escalate, even in the face of reduced sales of many of its rivals. Its current model line-up continues to grow in number and volumes sold consistently.
