Audi A8
Company chairmen and lottery winners need look no further than the Audi A8 or S8; it is what we can call a "full size" luxury car. Most versions of the A8 feature the Quattro all-wheel drive system as standard. The A8 has been available in Europe since 1994 and was the first car to be built on an aluminum platform. The second generation was introduced in 2003 and featured Audi’s D3 platform. The A8 received further enhancements in 2005 and is still being produced to date. The new Audi A8 is huge car, a challenger for BMW's 7Series and the Mercedes SClass. The new Audi A8 offers an alternative to those looking for understated individuality; the Audi A8 has definitely raised the performance_bar a few notches. The standard Audi A8 (if you can call it that) has good performance and excellent road manners, whilst the powerful V8 (4.2L) with Tiptronic transmission and quattro AWD mated to a brilliant adaptable airsuspension system which offers occupants a supreme balance of roadholding and ridequality. The new Audi A8 has an almost unrivalled driver control with unique stability. The new Audi A8 has a light_weight, Space Frame made of Aluminum which results in one highly_cohesive vehicle. The Audi A8's interior is elegance itself; comfort doesn't do it justice - with fit and finish like few other cars in the world. The Audi A8 has an MMI (a MultiMedia Inter face apparently), and this is fully integrated into a central knob on the console. It's more intuitive than BMW's i-Drive, but the Audi system isn't dead easy itself. Owners need to spend time to learn relatively simple functions. We sometimes foun ourselves asking if this sort of technology really is progress - or unecessary layers of complexity that just slow things down (or are we just dim?). The Audi A8_LWB is a long wheel base model providing extra comfort for rear-seat passengers with masses of leg room. The Audi A8 W12 is a 12cyl motor and a staggering 450PS; you have to drive an Audi A8 W12 to believe it!
