NEW KIA VENGA
The new Kia Venga will have its global premiere at the German MotorShow in Frankfurt next week. The new Venga model competes in the Focus/Astra market but is longer than most in its class at 2.6m. The 1.6m tall roof maximises interior space skilfully placing it alongside bigger and more expensive cars such as the Mondeo/Insignia ranges. The Kia Venga has a European design differing from previous Kia models with Europe-specific engineering and manufacturing base. The 2010 model Kia Venga has rear seating that slides and foldsflat inside its floor, creating an unexpectedly useful bootspace. Some new Kia Venga models also offer a tilt and slide panoramic sunroof as standard equipment. All Venga motors are offered with Kia's new "Intelligent Stop and Go" system (ISG) which complies with Euro_5 CO2 requirements. The new Kia Venga range currently offers a 1.4L or 1.6L petrol or diesel motor, ranging from 75PS upto 126PS power output. The car maker has not yet released prices for the new Venga range, but it expects to offer discounts making the new Kia Venga highly competitive in its sector.
New Kia Sorento 4WD - 2010 Model
Kia confirms its plans to launch a new 7-seater Sorento Offroader at the Frankfurt Motorshow this September. Kia's revised Sorento is both lengthier and sleeker than the present car, as well as being a good deal more efficient in aero dynamically. Its wheelbase has been increased to 4685 mm from 4567 mm on the outgoing Sorento, while its dragcoefficient is now .38, reduced from .43. This new Sorento is configured to “Kia’s new designlanguage” which claims the cabin has more room with better levels of luxury. Kia says the 2.2L diesel motor is to be the best seller in European markets producing 194PS and 310 lbft torque. Buyers can choose a 6-speed synchro or a new 6-speed automatic. Kia’s Euro marketing supremo Panu Vainamo says: “Our new Sorento creates a ‘Highline Cruiser’ which we think provides significant customer benefits and broad appeal. “Our designers have changed the first Sorento separate chassis configuration and created a mono-coque body shell – which achieves a weight reduction of 215kg, which improves fuel consumption and contributes to a better ride than most rival 4WD cars.” Whilst the new Kia Sorento is road_biased, it doesn't lose any offroad capability. Additional equipment featuring in the new Kia Sorento are key-less doors, new startbutton, reverse camera and a glass_panoramic sun roof. Kia hasn't revealed new prices for the 2010 Sorento yet, but did confirm that UK sales will begin by spring next year.
THE NEW KIA SOUL REVIEW
The Kia Soul is a brand new car created by a brand new designer, it caters very much to the younger driver. Kia is encouraging customers to personalise their New Kia Soul, and offers several different ways to integrate your identity to the car. Colour-coded and contrast-colour mirrors glowing seats are just two innovations that will set this model apart. The 1.6L motor with a 5-speed manual box is joined by the 2.0L with a 4-speed auto an option. The new Kia Soul is light and plenty of fun to drive - it looks good (for a box), and the cabin is funky yet functional. For safety, you get 6 air bags and ESC, and a sport model offers racy trim and a fractionally firmer ride. The 2.0L version offers 142PS, 16" alloy rims, cruise, remotecontrol entry, s/wheel controls with Bluetooth, and smoke glass. A 4-speed auto box is an option as is the electric moonroof, fogs and Hi-Fi with big speakers, subwoofer and amp! The new Kia Soul should find a niche, and will appeal to younger buyers. It really is a competent package; we don't feel buyers will be disappointed in any serious way - and everyone will enjoy its drive.
